Terms & Conditions
Who we are
Heron Connect is run by Asim Poptani, with Aryan and Dillon. It suggests people to meet at the DevDay Community Hackathon London at Hoxton Docks on 1 November 2026. Contact us at [email protected].
What you agree to
By signing in with GitHub or LinkedIn you agree to these terms and to our use of your data as set out in the privacy notice.
- You're at the event, and you're signing in as yourself.
- The photo you add is of you, so the people you meet can spot you.
- Be kind. Don't use Heron Connect to harass, sell to or mislead anyone.
- Don't try to break, overload or scrape the service.
Meeting people
We suggest people and a spot to meet. We don't check who anyone is beyond their GitHub or LinkedIn sign-in, and we never see where anyone is (the venue check sends us only yes or no). Meet in the open parts of the venue, and use the Report link on any card if something isn't right. Reports go to the organisers, and two reports pause someone until we've looked.
Emails
We email you once when you sign up (a welcome, with your link to the app). We send alert emails only if you keep email alerts on, and one email after the event unless you unticked the demo box. That's all. Every email has a link to stop them: it stops every email from us at once, without signing in. The privacy notice lists them.
Your data
You can change or remove what we hold at any time, and delete everything from Settings. We delete it all within 30 days of the event unless you ask us to keep your profile. The privacy notice has the details.
Removing people
The organisers can remove anyone who breaks these terms, or whom other people report, from the app straight away.
No guarantees
Heron Connect is a free tool built for one day. We do our best to keep it working, but we can't promise it always will, or that every suggestion will be a good one. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under UK law.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
